Another Day at the Farm

We had another couple of days at the farm. The whole lot of us this time. Even Lal and John came up in their caravan.

Saturday morning was extremely thundery and wet, but we decided to go up anyway. Luckily the rain stopped and the day turned out to be brilliant.

Ben and Corinne showed us all the improvements they have made to the farm. Everything is going along very well. The turkeys and chickens have grown tremendously since the last time we saw them.

A day on the Farm

Denise, Artie and I went up to the farm and stayed with Corinne for a day and a night last Monday. It was her day off. Ben unfortunately was away working in Brissie.

We had a great day. Started off in Toowoomba where we visited Queen’s Park to see the beautiful and colourful flower beds which had been prepared for the Festival of the Flowers. Afterwards we hit the Op-Shops, found a few treasures and then headed back to the farm.

After a wonderful greeting from Mo (you would think we had been a way for months), we checked out the turkey chicks who were also very pleased to see us; next the meat chicks and the future layers, the Sussex chicks;not so pleased to see us,very nervous compared to the turkeys.

Artie sat on the tractor and pretended to drive, a must when visiting the farm. Corinne showed us all the improvements that she and Ben have made round the house and yard, Very impressive in the short time they have been there. It’s all looking very good.

We went for a walk –just a short walk because of a little boy and a limping dog. Mo seemed to have a thorn or something stuck in his paw. Later Corinne cooked wontons for us. Yum! Then we watched “The Farmer wants a Wife”, seems appropriate for the farm, while drinking a wine or two.

Later on to bed where I am able to watch the stars which are brilliant without the interference of city or street lights to dim their beauty. Fantastic!

Back of house. Corinne preparing to see to the chicks.

The vegie patch. Good soil, great looking vegetables.

Arthur, our farm boy, looking good and ready to start work:)
